SKATING WITH THE OTTERS

Please follow the schedule below. The skaters are free and the Otters offer us a reduced fee for the parents, families and friends. Your team manager will collect the ticket orders (no money) and you will pick up and pay for your tickets at the lower lobby door of the Civic Center where the Otters enter. ONLY 1 parent may enter at that door with the player. This is a Civic Center rule. IF YOU ARE RE GETTING TICKETS FOR OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HAVE SOMEONE COME WITH YOU TO TAKE THOSE TICKETS ONCE PAID UP STAIRS TO THE MAIN LOBBY WHERE EVERYONE ELSE MUST ENTER. You will take your equipment to the Locker Room and enjoy the 1st period. 10 minutes left in the first period, player and parent will go to the lockerroom to dress. After the perido break skate, you must take your equipment to your car. They will give you a pass to reenter. LET'S MAKE SURE THE WHOLE TEAM IS THERE. IT WILL BE A 5 ON 5 WITH 2 GOALIES. EACH PLAYER WILL ONLY HAVE 1 TIME TO SKATE AT A GAME.

TIMBITS Program Encourages New Young Players

We all know that the first place Coach Y goes once over the border is TIM HORTON'S. Now 9 years later, it is a traditional stop no matter where the Lady Lions drop the puck in Canada and now in their own jungle of Erie, Pennsylvania. With the arrival of Tim Horton's to Erie there is more than just a big smile from Coach, who can have her double/double daily but also a roar of content from the ELL families and players. but an addition to our SIMBA/NALA Hockey FUN-damentals Program for girls and boys ages 4-10 (age as of 12/31/2006). You heard the jungle drums right....the program is now Tim Horton's TIMBIT Minor Hockey Program. Did you thow that the firs Timbit Program was started in 1973 in Moncton, NB by a cousin of our own Tim Horton Franchise owner, Aaron Beaton?

Who can be a Timbit? Girls and boys ages 4-10
When is the program held? Saturdays 8 am-12:15 pm. See schedules above for particulars per age group. Season runs September to first week of March for 20 weeks with exclusion of Christmas: March - Program finale: Timboree
Where is the program held? ICE CENTER OF ERIE (formerly the IGLOO) 38th and McClelland
How much is the program (2011) $99 Timbit I ages 4-5 and $149 Timbit II Ages 6-10. and that includes the first year free use of your hockey equipment (helmet, cage, elbow-shin-shoulder pads, gloves and pants and skates if needed (limited supply). $25 return player equipment rental fee.
TIMBIT HOUSE LEAGUE: Girls and boys age 8-10. Two ice sessions per week, Saturday A.M. and a weekday early evening. 80 total hrs of ice. See application for details.
How is the program designed? The Timbits program follows the guidelines of USA Hockey American Development Model Program and all instructors are certified by USA Hockey and all have background screening for your childs safety.. It is fundamentals of hockey with the FUN put back in.
Is there more? TIMBIT jersey and medal of participation because every Timbit is a winner in our pride.

TIMBIT JERSEY DRAFT EVENTS

This is always a special day for all the Timbits and their families. The draft dates will be announced for early October. As our Timbit Minor Hockey players take off their practice jerseys for their Timbit Team jersey, we cheer them as they took the next step to "being part of the most fun you can have in hockey!" What happens here is just another step they will take. The first step was getting on to the ice for the first time. They will all continue to develop the "FUN"damentals of hockey and learn to love the game as we all do. Through the season, many more important strides will be taken. Learning sportsmanship. Learning team play. Making new friends. These will be cherished moments in these young athletes lives.Memories that will last a lifetime for the players, their families and friends and the coaches and volunteers of the ELLGHA Timbit Minor Hockey Program.
We want to thank our local Tim Horton franchise owners, the volunteers and staff of ELLGHA, our friends of hockey volunteers, and especially the Timbits and their families for being part of this FUN time.
